The Week That Is,

I get to exercise my right to vote today. That offered to every citizen of the country-universal adult franchise. secret ballot. I strongly consider it my duty to take part in the choosing of the representatives of Government. My first State Assembly Election vote goes to Lok Paritran- a political party floated by ex-IITans, comprising educated young candidates. They aren’t just the inspired-by Yuva or RDB movies type but are men that I am sure who definitely want to make a difference atleast in terms of offering an alternative choice to the people and getting more people to participate in the electing process. I know they have no chance of coming Anywhere close to winning but I can say that just about every other person I know, in my age group is going to vote for them or atleast Wants to and have taken the trouble to spread the word about their existence and intentions. Not cause I trust them to win and make big changes- but because I feel that they should atleast get a significant vote margin so as to encourage future efforts on the part of educated young individuals who may someday strive for good governance and actually help to contribute productively to our state/country-India.

Also my bro’s returning home after more than a year in the UK where he was studying and working. Big preparations on for his upcoming wedding and things are happening pretty fast. Going to be busy with that.

On Sunday, I leave on a European holiday with 3 other friends-on which I have mixed feelings of fear, excitement and anticipation. The travel arrangements for that have actually just begun and it’s going to be pretty tight getting everything in place by then.
